Southern Dachshund Association Centenary Open Show
(Sunday – 16th June 2013)
Thank you for inviting me to Judge at the SDA Centenary Show. I had a good entry with some excellent dogs and although I did find several level bites, generally temperaments were superb. I was looking for the complete picture, keeping in mind the current standard.
Dachshund – Smooth Haired
Minor Puppy (1) 1 Higgins’s Leveliss Saucy Sailor, a beautiful b&t dog 6 1/2 months old, correct head, well angulated, level top line, strong loin, tight feet, moved out well, a little apprehensive but one to watch for the future, substance without coarseness BP & BPIS
Puppy (1) Absent
Junior (3) 1 Marsh’s Marshwick Harmony, b&t bitch correct head, but would like longer ears, neat angulation, slightly higher on the leg & longer in loin. Strode out well holding a level top line.
Post Graduate (12) 1 Raggett’s Silandajo Red Hotter, s/r bitch, houndy head, almond eye, long neck, ample front & level top line, long ribbing, excellent outline & moving & standing, moved with drive. RBOB.
2 Burke & Manston’s Bonavoir Testa Rossa, s/r quality bitch, level top line, well filled oval front & although she had been chewed a little, moved powerfully around the ring.

Limit (10) 1 Ellis’s Tealby Red Between The Lines, s/r dog, correct houndy head with good length of ear, ova front, tight elbows, correct angulation, long ribbing, level top line, strode out well showing his pads cleanly,
