The 4th Paws in the Park (http://www.pawsinpark.org/) will be held in the beautiful grounds of St. Giles Park at Wimborne St. Giles on the 18th of July.
Paws in the Park 2015 is an annual fundraiser which goes towards helping work at WVS (http://wvs.org.uk/), supporting animal welfare charities around the world with veterinary resources.
This year is going to be even better, with more events for all the family and of course our four legged friends!
Dog walkers are invited to be sponsored and to take part in a K9 9 km walk. The enchanting mid-18th century designed grounds of the Earl and Countess of Shaftesbury are normally off limits to the public, but are open
only for this day.
Starting at the magnificent St. Giles House, your walk will take you on a journey through woodland, farmland and open park. Visiting some of the original features of the ‘pleasure park’ you will see a shell grotto, walk along the 19th century ‘beech belt’, past the beautiful Serpentine Lake and visit a castle gatehouse. The park is also rich in wildlife with deer, pheasants, swans and many species of butterfly throughout the area.
The event also includes the WVS Dog Show and a very special guest is expected to come and judge the event, which includes the famous ” Owner and Dog Look Alike” competition (Please note that dogs are NOT allowed to be dressed up at Paws in the Park, but humans dressed as dogs are welcomed!).
There are LOTS of other activities, with delicious food and drink stalls, as well as some amazing guests and entertainment.
See you there!
