The Southern Dachshund Association will be holding a Breed Seminar and Assessment event on Saturday 15th August 2015.

The Seminar is an ideal opportunity to learn about Dachshunds, whatever your current knowledge and experience. Breed Council Chairman Ian Seath will speak about the Breed Standard, conformation and movement and how to judge a Dachshund. Judging responsibilities with regard to health and welfare will also be covered. Everyone will have the chance to go over a selection of dogs, with guidance from experienced breeders and Championship Show judges, in a practical “hands-on” session. The Breed Council’s written assessment paper can also be taken by anyone who wishes to.

For those who meet the Breed Council’s criteria having already judged 150 Dachshunds, there will be an opportunity to be assessed and, if successful, have your name put forward for the A2 Judging List when you have completed 3 successful assessments and meet all other relevant criteria. Assessment places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The venue is Chieveley Village Hall, High Street, Chieveley, West Berkshire (RG20 8TE). This is easy to find, just off the M4, and is a venue already used for dog club events.

A buffet lunch is included in the ticket price of £25 (£20 for those who do not wish to be assessed), together with morning coffee and afternoon tea. Comprehensive handouts on the Breed Standard will also be provided.

The Seminar starts at 10:00, with refreshments being served from 09:30.

If you would like to attend, please complete the Booking Form and send a cheque, payable to Southern Dachshund Association. (Confirmation of your booking and directions to the venue will be posted or e-mailed).
